Upgrade of the hydraulic power unit in the Lerum factory.

Servi has implemented a comprehensive upgrade of the hydraulic unit at the Lerum factory. The new solution includes stepless regulation using intelligent software that is specially tailored to the factory’s needs. This has resulted in a significant reduction in power consumption, by up to 30 percent.

This not only provides more economic benefits but also reduces the need for maintenance and replacement. The factory also experienced a significant reduction in noise levels. This creates a better working environment for the employees and contributes to well-being and productivity.

The Lerum factory in Kaupanger is a cornerstone of Norwegian food production, with an annual output of 20 million liters of juice, 35 million liters of juice, and 10,000 tons of jam. In 2022, they took a big step towards a greener future by collaborating with Servi Group to upgrade their hydraulic unit. The goal was to reduce both their carbon footprint and energy costs.

Benefits the Lerum factory achieved after the upgrade: 

  • Increased lifespan of components: Electric motors, hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic fluid have a longer lifespan thanks to the new control system. This provides economic benefits and reduces the need for maintenance and replacement.
  • Reduced noise levels: The factory has experienced a significant reduction in noise levels, creating a better working environment for the employees and contributing to increased well-being and productivity.
  • Efficient heat management: The more efficient hydraulic station results in less heat generation, providing a more comfortable workplace and reducing the need for cooling.
